Guys, if you are looking for an excuse to drink more with your friends; look no more. You have a very valid reason now – your health.
I bet men everywhere are excited to find that a recent study conducted by University of Oxford claims that men need to go out for drinks with their friends twice a week in order to maintain their health and happiness.
The University psychologist and director of Oxford University’s evolutionary and social neuroscience research group, Robin Dunbar is behind this study.
The forming of strong male bonds can benefit men in many ways: It strengthens the immune system; it releases endorphins (the happy hormones); it reduces anxiety and depression; and even makes men more generous.
According to the same study, most men don’t go out drinking with friends as they should. One in three men can’t find time to meet their friends once a week, while 40% of the UK men are making a ‘guys’ night’ a weekly affair.
This been said, 20% of men communicate virtually with friends via their smart phones. Instead, Dunbar suggests they should spend this time by meeting physically and talking face to face over a few beers.
So, there you have it! When health comes in question, who would say ‘no’ to a couple of drinks with friends?
