Research Shows: A Lack Of Sex Can Make Your Vagina Depressed

We all know the benefits of having regular sex and orgasming through the roof at least once a day, but did you know that women not only want but also need to have a lot of sex?

Ladies, if you’ve been experiencing an unexpected burning, and itching sensations down there, then you might have a condition that can only be treated by sexual intercourse.

Sex may not be the most important thing in life, but when it comes to maintaining your own health, it suddenly becomes the number one activity you should consider doing.

Study finds that sexual abstinence can make your vagina depressed, and as a result lead to a vaginal atrophy.  

In case you haven’t heard, vaginal atrophy is a very common curable condition that causes the vagina wall to thin. It is a medical problem that affects women of any age, but particularly the ones who are experiencing the downsides of menopause.

It can be also found in women who’ve survived cancer and especially in those who undertook a hormone treatment for breast cancer.

Factors who can also contribute to vaginal atrophy are smoking, no vaginal births and as I already mentioned, lack of sex.

In these situations, the women’s body tends to produce less estrogen than usual, which has the power to directly influence the condition of the vaginal wall.

Louise Mazanti, a London-based sex therapist, says: “It is very important that we have a healthy sex life with a partner or with ourselves. People very often say, ‘I don’t have a sex life because I don’t have a partner.’”

“But forget about that and have a sexual relationship with yourself.”

“It’s about using massage and touching the tissue so that it becomes alive, the blood flows and the tissue becomes elastic.”

“It is really about exercising the tissue.”

The key to maintaining a healthy vagina is a regular blood flow in that particular area. And, what can be more stimulating than an energizing sex with an even more intense finale/orgasm?

Increasing the blood flow also increases the oxygen supply to the vagina that eventually results in a healthy and lubricated tissue that is less likely to be inflamed or dry.

Because according to Mazanti, if the cells lack oxygen, they have no ability to eliminate the waste from the tissue and therefore lead to vaginal atrophy.

We all know that estrogen is the most important hormone that regulates our ovulation as well as the woman’s menstrual cycle. Now, when our body hits menopause and stops producing estrogen, the vaginal walls become thinner and dryer.

But, how can you tell when you’re experiencing a vaginal atrophy?  

Depending on how severe your issue is, you may experience dryness, burning sensation, particularly when you pee, itching, the urgency to pee, light bleeding after sex, dryness during sex, urinary tract infections.

However, even though all of these symptoms seem like the perfect turn off, regular intercourses, epic orgasms and a bit of self-love every now and then can actually prevent you from ever experiencing something terrible such as ‘depressed’ vagina.

Is vaginal atrophy a condition that can be cured?

Most certainly. It is a physical condition that can be treated.

Besides practicing your favorite, bedtime, naughty and sweaty activity, you can try using suitable moisturizers and lubricants that will help to improve the tissue. Creams and estrogen tablets are also recommended in order to revitalize the tissue and restore the proper body’s natural levels.
