8 Cruel Realities That Will Make You Stronger Once You Accept Them

We’re all used to reading affirmative posts about how life is rainbows and unicorns, and how everything will eventually settle down. I’m not saying I’m against it… but let’s put things into a more realistic perspective.

It’s important to understand that life is a sequence of both positive and negative events, and considering that, most of the time we struggle to put everything in order.

There will be some hard things for us to swallow and some truths which we wouldn’t be always brave enough to hear. However, accepting them as a part of your life will only make you grow stronger.

These are the 8 cruel realities of life that will make you stronger once you acknowledge them:

1. You CAN’T CHANGE the PAST

No matter how hard you try to change the things that once happened, the past can never be re-written. What’s done is done, what’s gone is gone and the only thing left to do is to concentrate on the beauty the present moment holds.

Don’t waste your time figuring out the things you could’ve done to possibly prevent something from happening. Instead, focus on your future goals, and do your best to achieve them.

2. Being BUSY doesn’t always mean you are being PRODUCTIVE

Some people just love to complain about how busy they are. Complaining usually gets in the way of successfully completing a certain task, don’t you think? They don’t realize that instead of stressing about how much they have to do, they need to focus on more rational thinking.

Remember: Work smarter, not harder! Be effective and use your sources wisely. List everything you must do, put all the important tasks at the top of the list, and get things going. Block everything that distracts you and work harder. No excuses!

3. You do HAVE THE TIME, so stop telling everyone you don’t

One of the most common things I’ve heard from people would be: “I don’t have enough time to do everything I want”. Okay, so we live in a fast-paced world where half of your day is spent working a job that provides you an average income.  We’re all busy. We’re always up and running.

But, with a good organization and a bit of willpower, everything is possible! How many hours a day do you spend scrolling stories on Instagram? Watching TV? I’m guessing too many.

It’s a fact we fill our days with useless distractions, but you need to make time to identify yours and reschedule your time for different, more productive activities. It’ll be worth it, I promise.

4. Tomorrow DOESN’T come for everyone

It’s the sad truth. We’ll be gone from the face of the Earth in a certain time. As dreadful as it sounds, it’s a thing that can’t be changed and remains the same. But the one thing we can do about it is to embrace life, no matter how hard sometimes is.

Don’t put off until tomorrow what can be done today. This goes for everything in life. Tell your parents how much you love them, accept that job opportunity that thrills you, ask the one you like on a date. Use the present moment.

Because for some people, tomorrow never comes.

5. FAILURE is inevitable

There will surely be times when life won’t go as planned and you’ll fail. You’ll face problems that you didn’t think even exist. It will discourage you to the point where you won’t be able to try again. But that’s life.

No matter how much plans you make, failure will be here to teach us and make us stronger. So, don’t be afraid to fail. Whatever you do, try to look at the positive side of things, and find a way to rise from the ashes. Ultimately, you’ll succeed.

6. NOTHING will be perfect

Don’t waste your life trying to make everything perfect. There will be things that you won’t be able to control. Stop waiting for the right time or right situation to come, and just do it your way!

7. Make time for your PASSION

If there’s something that sets your heart on fire and sparks up your eyes whenever you talk about it, embrace it and make that thing work! Take time out of your busy agenda to do the things that make your soul flourish.

When you do the thing you love, you’ll never have to work a day in your life.

8. You’ll learn the HARD WAY, but you won’t be able to always rely on FRIENDS

Friends are considered as our life companions, our soulmates. However, life can get a bit rough and show us that some people were in our life just for their own beneficial reason. You end up betrayed and you feel like you’ll never be able to trust someone the way you did.

Don’t let this discourage you. Just move on with your life. Be nice to people. You’ll get everything you deserve.

Now that you’ve heard the un-sugar-coated version of life, what will you do today to start getting your life together?
