Ecdysterone Vs. Turkesterone: Myths Vs. Facts

The supplement industry has never disappointed people in gaining what they want. Supplements are used by bodybuilders who want quick success or development in their bodies. We live in a fast-paced world where we are too busy to deal with our work-life balance. In such situations going to the gym, maintaining a proper diet, and getting enough nutrition from food is not possible within a day.

This is where supplements came on the stage to become the substitute for food. Apart from that, bodybuilders know that they need to gain body weight within a limited period of time, which suggests that they need supplements the most.

Among the trending, Ecdysterone and Turkesterone are very popular, and you can say they are hyped for some reasons. We cannot say the real deal behind it, but people are so excited about these supplements.

Though the supplement industry never really disappointed people due to the wrong usage, many people have suffered from it. So, here our main focus is to find out the truth and diminish the myths related to Ecdysterone and Turkesterone.

Ecdysterone Vs. Turkesterone

Coming from the same hormone, ecdysteroid Ecdysterone and Turkesterone are not the same elements of supplements. This is the biggest myth that you will face in the supplement industry if you consider these two supplements the same.

People assume these two supplements come from the same type, and thus they are all the same. But this is not the truth. In fact, Ecdysterone is a naturally occurring hormone that controls the metamorphosis and ecdysis of arthropods. It is commonly found as molting hormones in insects, crabs, etc.

On the other hand, Turkesterone is an analog of 20-hydroxyecdysone. Turkesterone is a phytoecdysteroid found in Ajuga turkestanica, Triticum Aestivum, Rhaponticum Acaule, and in Vitex species.

These plants were used for various medical purposes as they are good with anabolic, hepatoprotective, adaptogenic, and hypoglycemic activity.

These plants are mainly found in Tadzhikistan and Uzbekistan to use for muscle strength and stomach aches and also to protect people from various heart diseases.

Myths And Facts Related To Ecdysterone And Turkesterone

Now when you understand the significant difference between these two, you need to understand that these are almost the same in working for your body.

Still, there are some myths that you need to be aware of before you buy any particular supplement. Well, we have found some prominent myths that people believe in. Here we are going to remove all these myths to ensure the real facts before these supplements.

Myth: Ecdysterone And Turkesterone Supplements Are The Same As Steroids

Fact:

We have already discussed the fact that Ecdysterone and Turkesterone come from the class of molecules called ecdysteroids. First, it was found in insects and then in plants.

When you mention steroids in the fitness world, it means Androgenic Anabolic Steroids (AAS).

For instance, trenbolone and testosterone are such AAS that binds androgen receptors with anabolic properties to build muscles and tissues.

Ecdysteroids do not have any binding affinity to the androgen receptor and, thus, are not associated with the effects of steroids.

Thus the misconception of steroids is totally wrong in this case.

Myth: Ecdysterone Is A Less Potent Form Of Turkesterone

Fact:

Various studies were done on both Ecdysterone and Turkesterone, but studies that have suggested that both have the same potential or that Turkesterone has more potential are not clear enough with evidence.

But if you leave these unapproved studies behind, you will see that the availability of Ecdysterone is common and huge compared to Turkesterone. It is only found in the Ajuga plant species, and thus the availability is very low.

On the other hand, Turkesterone products are mostly standardized to 10% if standardized. This is where the Ecdysterone products are highly standardized and thus highly available in the market.

Myth: Ecdysterone And Turkesterone Have No Human Data To Support

Fact:

For pharmaceutical drugs, being prominent and approved by the FDA is important. If you are finding an answer, you need to understand that dietary supplements are different from pharmaceutical drugs.

Thorough research is necessary for the medication. The drug companies pay millions of dollars behind the research of a new product to launch in the market with FDA approval.

However, Turkesterone is not applied to humans for research yet. It is only tested on rats. On the other hand, Ecdysterone has some successful healthy human tests.

So, in this particular situation, you need to understand which is better for you.
