True love is real. And it lasts forever.

Karl and Donna Von Schwarz are a couple from Texas. However, the most extraordinary thing about these lovebirds is the fact that they’ve been married for 63 years now. The lovely couple got married in 1956 and has four kids together. Today they have nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
They’ve been through many things together, but it seems that their love hasn’t changed at all over the years. In fact, it only grew stronger and stronger.
According to their granddaughter Karly Gibbs, one of the most difficult things that they overcame together was Donna’s surgery. One year ago, she received an open-heart surgery which resulted in her going through a seizure and a stroke. Considering her age (81 years), Donna had several health complications and she was constantly in and out of rehab. This forced her to spend most of 2018 in a hospital.
“Grandpa never left her side,” Gibbs said. “The rehab center brought in a chair where he slept every night until she was strong enough to come home.”
Karl, 84, devastated from seeing his poor, sick wife and not knowing how much time she has left made a decision to prove his love to her one more time. He promised that he would buy her a new engagement ring as soon as she comes home.
And it seems that his love was the only thing that Donna needed to get back on her feet.
Because a few months ago, Karl took Donna into a department store, picked the most beautiful ring and got on one knee to propose her. “What in the world?” Donna said when he proposed. She teased him the same way she did when he popped the question for the first time.
Their family filmed the heartwarming moment and the video immediately went viral.
Right then and there, after 63 years together, the couple renewed their vows and swore to love one another for all eternity.
