Are you preoccupied with your weight and believe that if you weigh less, people will find you more beautiful and lovable? Well, my dear, you’re terribly wrong. Your worthiness and beauty don’t depend on your weight.
Unfortunately, we live in a time and culture where people put a lot of focus on body weight. While there’s nothing wrong about the desire to be attractive, this mustn’t turn into a necessity. The common belief that women who are thin are more lovable, attractive, and popular than those who are overweight is a total nonsense. I don’t believe in this and you shouldn’t either.
Never think that guys are or will be less attracted to you because of your weight – to the right guy, you’ll be always beautiful just the way you are!
In what follows, there’s a list of 8 reasons why you should stop obsessing about your weight.
Here they are:
1. Your weight does not define your self-worth.
As the name itself suggests, your self-worth is in no other place, but in yourself. No one can take that away from you. You must know that you’re as much important as someone who has 80 lbs. Your body image can’t increase or lower your self-worth because it’s not connected to it in any way whatsoever. The sooner you understand this, the better for you.
2. Not all people share the same beauty standards.
Not everyone is interested in the 90-60-90 body dimensions. If there are many who long for their body to look like this, there are many others, as well, who know they can look equally attractive with different body dimensions from these. The type of body which looks appealing and sexy to some can look nothing more than normal to others.
3. It’s the clothes that should fit you, not the other way round.
Hell yeah! Don’t let the fact that you can’t wear an S frustrate and bring you down. Clothes are there to make you feel beautiful while you’re wearing them. You can look good and attractive, no matter what the size of your dress or T-shirt is.
4. Companies want to hate your own body.
This shouldn’t sound surprising if you know that there are thousands of companies who make really big profits by making people dissatisfied with their bodies and subtly persuading them they can easily lose weight by using their “effective” products. This is a total bullsh*t. Don’t let them control your mind.
5. Learn to ignore the negative self-talk.
If you’re constantly telling yourself to lose weight or you’re listening to others telling you the same thing, try to ignore it. Don’t expect that you’ll succeed in this overnight, it can take time. But if you start telling yourself every single day that you’re already worthy, smart, and pretty just the way you are, the negative talks won’t be able to touch you never again.
6. Replace the negative with positive thoughts.
If it’s “You must lose weight. You’re ugly” the thing that you’re listening to way too often, try to replace this with positive reinforcement. When you get up in the mornings or look at yourself in front of the mirror, tell yourself this: “I’m worthy. I’m special. I love myself.”
7. Get in contact with people who can help you love your body more.
You can either do this face-to-face, but contacting with people online can be equally effective. Try talking to people who will support you and help you see your body from a different perspective. Positive encouragement can only do you good.
8. The right guy won’t care how much you weigh.
If he’s the right guy for you, he won’t bother about your weight. You’ll be beautiful, smart, and sexy to him just like any other girl out there. If he’s the one, he’ll be happy and grateful to have you in his life.
