This Is How You Show Your Loved Ones That They Mean The World To You

The people we keep in our closest circle are the ones who are the most important to us in our life. They’re our greatest help and support. Our cheerleaders. Our crying shoulder. Our guiding light. Our hope.

They’re our greatest treasure. Yet, we fail to show them they really mean to us. We take them for granted. Living with them, if they’re your family or partner, or hanging out with them, if they’re your friends, relatives, or colleagues, day in, day out, we tend to think that most gestures are simply “understood.”

Living life at a fast pace, we spend all our energy and time on fulfilling our daily responsibilities, pursuing our own goals, and dealing with our own problems, which leaves us with a very small amount of time to show our loved ones that we truly care about them.

Unfortunately, it seems that we always somehow forget to squeeze one really important thing into our hectic schedules, or I should better say, our list of priorities – to show our loved ones how much they mean to us. To make them feel special.

Because, you know, when you genuinely love and care about someone, making them feel happy and loved comes naturally to you. When you love someone honestly and deeply, you don’t use “I had a really busy, hard day” as an excuse not to spend time with them.

When you really care about someone, you don’t make them feel neglected and you don’t put them last on your priority list.

You know, it doesn’t take much to show someone you truly care about them. You just need to be a little bit more sensitive and aware of their feelings and needs and show through your actions, not only through your words, that they mean the world to you. It’s not hard at all, is it?

Well, here are some simple, effective ways you can do that:

Be there for them when they need you. Be there when they’re facing problems or struggling with pain. Be there for them when they feel worried or scared. When they’re facing failure or just feeling down in the dumps.

Be there for them in those difficult moments since this is when they need your help and support the most. Give your best to ease out their troubles and alleviate their pain. I assure you this will mean a lot to them.

Show interest in their life. Show interest in their passions, work, and hobbies. Learn about what they’re enthusiastic about and what makes them happy. Show interest in and respect for their opinions and attitude to life, no matter how different they are from your own. Let them know that everything which is related to them matters to you.

Accept and cherish them for who they are. Accept them with all their quirks, whims, irritating habits, insecurities, and fears. Appreciate their positive sides and remind them of their worth.

Be patient with them and show understanding when they get emotional or cranky. Make them feel free and comfortable to show you their vulnerable sides. Let them know they can always be themselves when they’re around you because you love and cherish them for who they are.

Empathize with them. Try to put yourself in their shoes and feel what they’re feeling. This will make them know that you truly understand them. Trust me, knowing that someone understands what you’re going through is priceless.

Help them grow. Help them overcome their mental barriers and reach their full potential. Motivate them to work on and improve themselves both on a personal and professional level. Encourage them to set higher goals, strive for more, and be the best at everything they do.

Don’t judge them. Everyone has weaknesses and flaws and makes mistakes. So, avoid criticizing them and show tolerance and understanding instead. Let them know they shouldn’t be ashamed of their failures and mistakes. Let them know that their flaws are just a small part of their personality and they don’t determine their worth.

Remind them of all the great things they have in life and of all their achievements. Boost their self-confidence and make them feel good about themselves.

Celebrate their successes. When they achieve their goals, no matter how big or small, congratulate them and show you’re happy for them. Showing that you truly admire their hard work and efforts will increase their self-confidence and self-esteem and motivate them to pursue higher goals.

Respect their privacy. No matter how close you are to your friends and family, you have to always respect their boundaries. If they’re not willing and don’t feel comfortable to share things from their personal life with you, don’t insist they do that. Show respect for their personal space and never intrude into their privacy.

Share their burden of responsibilities. Whether they’re your family, friends, or colleagues, don’t leave them to do all the tasks on their own. Instead, help them complete a difficult task or offer to do one instead of them. You can be sure they’ll appreciate this a lot.

Show them you’re grateful for everything they do for you. Saying “Thank you” to the person who has helped you won’t cost you anything, but it’ll show them that you acknowledge and appreciate their help. It’ll show them that you’re grateful to them for all the support and help they’ve unselfishly given you.
