How to Perform Astral Projection – Guide for Beginners

How to Astral Project?

There are a lot of people out there that are claiming they had an out of body experience called an astral projection. This mysterious and intriguing practice is something that has mostly been seen in supernatural movies so it’s no wonder people are wondering if this is only a fictional thing and a myth or it can be done in real life. 

There are a lot of questions surrounding this practice and if it’s possible to do it – how do you do it? Follow this astral projection guide we have put together for you:

1. Astral Projection – Step one: Create the right atmosphere

Similar to meditating, you need to set an atmosphere that will calm and relax your mind. It’s important to be isolated in a quiet place. Take some time for yourself and be alone – make sure you won’t be disturbed. 

Your surrounding should be shaded and you should try to make yourself comfortable. Some people recommend a bed as the best place to practice this, either in the morning after you just woke up or at night, before you fall asleep.

2. Astral Projection – Step two: Reach a hypnotic state

To reach this state, you need to be so relaxed that it almost feels like you’re going to fall asleep. Similar as you would do if you were meditating – start by controlling your breathing – slow and deep breaths with breathing in through the nose and exhaling through the mouth. 

Focus on your breathing – feel the air in your diaphragm rather than in your lungs. Control your breathing like this for at least a few minutes, notice that you’re heartbeat is slowing down.

After you feel relaxed, focus on your entire body, part by part. Notice your muscles and try to relax them one by one. Start at the top of your body and go lower. Feel the muscles on your face as they are being relaxed, relieving all the built-up tension. Proceed with this until you get to your toes. 

This process is the same as in body scanning meditation. After you finish this process, you should be very relaxed and in a highly suggestible state. This will bring you a step closer to a projection.

3. Astral Projection – Step three: Enter into a state of vibration

The state of vibration is something new even for those that have experienced meditation before. It’s very simple – allow yourself to feel and notice small vibrations in your body. You’ll notice them even more once you focus on them and they’ll start coming in waves and different frequencies. 

This may seem a bit unsettling but there is nothing to be scared of- you can leave a hypnotic state whenever you want to do it.

4. Astral Projection – Step four: Move your soul from your body

This is the most important part of this journey – this step will allow you to move your soul form your body. There are two things you should do. Firstly, imagine the room in which you are at the moment and secondly, imagine yourself crossing that room.

This may sound a bit simple, however, it takes a bit of effort to achieve it. You can start by imagining yourself sitting or standing in the room while seeing yourself remaining in your resting place. Once you’re able to do it, you can imagine slowly drifting apart from your body and looking back at your body from a distance.

If you don’t succeed the first time you try it, don’t give up – you just need a bit of practice. Of course, there is a possibility you’ll be able to do it immediately.

4. Astral Projection – Step five: Stay lucid/aware by focusing

Astral projection is not just about what you’re going to do once you’re traveled out of your body, it is also about the ways you conduct yourself in everyday life. The more focused and concentrated you are in everyday situations, the better you’re going to get at your astral projections and this process will become easier and simpler. You can practice your general focus by including daily meditations and mindfulness exercises, or by starting some self-reflective hobbies such as writing a diary.

If you feel as you’re struggling with astral projection, try including different things such as changing the time you’re trying it. Not everything will work for everyone, you need to get to know your brain and use that knowledge in your advance.
