Don’t sacrifice your comfort, your joy, your future only to not disappoint the people around you. Don’t stifle your happiness for someone else who only judges you, criticizes you, and no matter what you do or how you do it, thinks you are not enough.
I hope you know you don’t have to explain your choices and decisions to anyone. I hope you don’t stop yourself from doing what you want. I hope you don’t stop your own happiness because of other people.
People will hardly ever understand what it’s like to walk in your shoes, to be in your skin. They will hardly ever understand why you said the things you said, why you did what you did, why you forgave someone, or why you didn’t forgive someone else. It is hard to understand.
People judge without knowing the why, without knowing you, without knowing the big picture. They see chunks only and they judge, so why should you base your happiness, your life on people who do not bother to get to know you, to ask, to listen.
Choose yourself. Over and over again. Choose to forgive yourself, to learn from your mistakes.

I hope you know you don’t have to apologize for being you. I hope you don’t put judgments to be the center of your life, I hope you base your choices instead.
You owe it to yourself because everybody chooses themselves at the end of the day. People judge, they gossip, but they go home and they live their life because they don’t care. Because they chose what they wanted. You should do it too. Live your life, don’t succumb to others’ opinions or remarks.
Living your life despite what others think is not selfish as much as it is an act of self-love and self-care. Sometimes we judge, we reproach because we don’t know what else to talk about or because we think we will help people that way.
Maybe you’ve judged someone too, but they moved on. Similarly, other people may have an opinion about your choices, but should that really stop you from living?
