5 ways to help you relax and unwind

SHARE

Life can be stressful at times, and the more stressed we become, the more difficult we may find it to relax. Perhaps your typical week involves going to work, taking care of the kids, and being a personal taxi service for most of the weekend. You then repeat said cycle over and over again and, before you know it, another week has gone by in a flash. You can read more for a guide from ProductAdvisor.

Whilst there is nothing wrong with the routine we have just described, it is important to have some downtime once in a while. Even if it is just an hour or two to collect your thoughts, it can make all the difference. Here are 5 ways to help you relax and unwind.

Marijuana

If you feel tense or stressed, marijuana can help you to relax and unwind. This isn’t something that everyone will want to do, and many people simply don’t want to try it or don’t like how it makes them feel. If, however, you are okay with it, you may discover that it is a great relaxant for you. There are different strains and types of marijuana available, as well as a range of products such as edible gummies, cookies, and gum. If you need advice on what to buy, it’s a good idea to speak to

a professional. The state of California legalized cannabis for recreational use in 2016 so there are dispensaries in Los Angeles, Carmel, and most other regions. Many other states have also legalized its use, so search for suppliers in your area who can provide you with the advice that you need. Many people say that it makes them feel the most relaxed that they have ever been, so it might be worth looking into.

Exercise

Whilst this may not sound particularly relaxing, exercising can do wonders for your overall mindset. It helps to get rid of the days’ stresses and encourages your body to unwind. Whilst it isn’t always possible to visit the gym regularly, activities such as running are just as good for you. You can run when it suits you, and you won’t be tied to gym opening times or fitness class schedules.

Letting off steam and giving your mind time to calm down, regardless of the activity you choose, will do you the power of good and could aid a restful night of relaxation.

Reading

Reading has been popular for centuries and is a great way to unwind. The phrase ‘Losing yourself in a good book’ is very true indeed. You will no longer be focused on the events of your day and can get completely embroiled in someone else’s life for a while. Whether it’s an autobiography or a fictional story, for some, books provide the ability to relax the mind and make them feel calm.

If you have tried reading and find you can’t concentrate, perhaps audiobooks would be suitable. Many people find they get less distracted with this method.

Books aren’t always cheap, so if you have a local library, it is worthwhile joining. It’s usually free and you will have around a month to read your selection. You can rent multiple books at a time, so it’s a great way to find the genre that you prefer without any cost implication.

ASMR

Autonomous sensory meridian response, ASMR for short, is an increasingly popular method for promoting relaxation and sleep. It usually comes in the form of a video and consists of the ‘artist’ performing a range of activities and sounds. ASMR is a physical sensation of tingling that many people experience with certain triggers. For example, many people find that hearing noises like rustling or crunching can give them the ‘tingles.’ Others prefer more visual triggers such as watching towels being folded, or make-up being applied. The reactions vary from person to person, but it’s a very common way to feel relaxed and de-stress.

Bathing

Having a bath is a fabulous winding down method, and probably one of the most common. Your body feels somewhat weightless, and you can lie there for as long as you like. Adding bubbles to the bath and listening to classical music is very popular with many. Lighting candles is another way to create a feeling of peace and complete relaxation. It is suggested that having a bath straight before bedtime is a great way to promote a good night’s sleep. Washing your cares away and getting ready for the next day to begin.
