The Americans dominated most of the game, but could only show themselves in the 61st minute. The Dutch team was punished with a penalty kick to their score, which was confidently realized by Megan Rapino, the forward. Eight minutes later, the United States managed to double their lead thanks to Lavell’s accurate strike.

The Netherlands tried to recoup and went forward with great passion, but American defense acted clearly and accurately. As a result, the final match ended with the score of 2:0 in favor of the star-striped team.

The third place at the Women’s World Cup 2019 was taken by the Swedish national team, which outplayed the English women with a score of 2:1. The top scorers of the championship were Alex Morgan from the United States and Ellen White from England. Both players scored six goals. 

The most valuable player of the tournament was the American Megan Rapino, who plays at the midfielder position. The best goalkeeper was Sari Van Veenendaal from the Netherlands national team.
