I Am A Proud Feminist, But I Will Always Cherish These Old Fashioned Habits

I am a proud feminist. I stand for women’s rights. I am an independent woman who knows how to take care of herself and doesn’t need saving. But, when it comes to love and dating, I am a total sucker for those old-fashioned dating traditions.

I want to experience love in its purest form. I love men who can proudly show their intentions. But, most of all, I genuinely respect people who are not afraid to open their hearts and go the extra mile for the one they love.

I know. We’re living in a modern-dating society of the 21st century where romance is slowly fading away. People barely have any manners left.

But, why should that stop me from respecting the real values and searching for the real thing?

Here are some old-fashioned dating habits that make my heart go crazy:

1.BEING PICKED UP FOR A DATE

I’m perfectly capable of walking or driving up to the place that I am meeting my date, but there’s something truly irresistible and thoughtful in being picked up for a date. You have to admit it. It’s a sweet gesture that shows a great deal of respect and care.

2. BEING WALKED TO HOME

There’s nothing more beautiful than dating a guy who is thrilled to spend more time with you by walking you all the way to your home. When someone changes their schedule or stays late to spend more time with you, it means that not only this person genuinely cares for you, but they also like you.

3. BEING SURPRISED WITH FLOWERS OR A CUTE CARD

No one can resist a big, beautiful, fresh bouquet, especially if the flowers were handpicked from a local garden. I am a person who pays a great attention to details and likes to express her emotions openly. That is exactly why rare gestures like these make me genuinely excited and happy.

4. DRESSING NICELY FOR DATES

As I said, aesthetics are important to me. That is why it takes forever to get ready for a date. And that is why I truly respect men who take care of their style. Men who know exactly who they are, what they want and men who put as much effort in their appearance as they put in their behavior.

5. BEING SHOWERED WITH FULL ATTENTION FROM MY DATE

We live in a world where social media activity is more important than the real relationships with the people around us. It is truly sad to see so many young people staring at their phones instead of actually talking to each other.

So, in a world where people don’t bother to pay attention to anyone but themselves, I am more than happy to be with someone who enjoys giving me his full attention.

6. BEING EXPLICITLY ASKED OUT ON A DATE

Tell me, where did the good, old-fashioned dates go? Where is the romance, people? Where is the spontaneity?

I’m tired of these new Tinder generations. People need to realize that wondering whether to scroll left or right is not the proper way to date and messenger is not the proper way to meet someone.

If you ask me, I prefer a straight-forward approach. No mixed emotions, no stupid messages, only the truth.
