But my biggest happiness comes from spending time with my family. My toddler son is curious and energetic. Teaching him to swim or skate, even trying the guitar, is so much fun, just seeing him learn new things and watching his confidence grow. It’s an amazing feeling to be a dad. 

Q: How does playing guitar change your mindset?

Matt Cameron: Playing guitar teaches patience—a lot of consistent effort is needed. You don’t become good overnight. You start by learning some chords and build on that until you play whole songs or create your own music. This process mirrors much of what I do in life—small steps lead to big results.
