8 Signs Your Guardian Angel Is Near And Watching Over You

Angels have been present in every religion – if you look at the religions of the world, you will notice that they simply transcend the religious bonds and are virtually present in every one of them.

If you take the guardian archangel, for example, you will find Archangel Michael in Christianity, Judaism, Islam, as well as in the Esoteric beliefs, and they all give him a slightly different pronunciation to the same name.

Angels have long been associated with protection and divine guidance, and many people claim to have felt their presence or received their aid in dire times. So, how can you know if you are being watched over by an angel?

Here is what others have reported to have felt:

1. Unexpected changes in air pressure or temperature

Some people report to have felt an unexpected rush of warmth or the feeling as if the air simply went out of the room. These changes are sudden and not easily explainable.

2. A feeling of a presence

A strange feeling as if something or someone is in the vicinity, although cannot be seen, has been reported by others. They claim that if you set your intentions, you could even receive a more physical sign of the angel’s presence.

3. A mysterious smell

An odor that cannot be described in any way and that those who had that experience have never smelled anything similar before or after the encounter with the angel.

4. Change in lighting

Some people say that they have experienced a change in the lighting in the place where they had the encounter. Some describe it as strange shadows, while others report beams of light.

5. Angelic voices

It has been said that the presence of an angel is most felt when you hear angelic voices, such as gentle whispers, a telepathic message, or even a nudge in the brain. When this happens, you can try and communicate with the angel.

6. Dream appearances

Most often, angels appear to people in their dreams, bringing some kind of message or reassurance in dire times. You will know if this happened to you because you’ll know it wasn’t just a dream.

7. White feathers

White feathers are not that common to see in our everyday lives. But if you see them, it might be a sign that you have been visited by an angel. People report these experiences, after which there is some kind of turning point in their lives.

8. Otherworldly stranger

Sometimes, although rarely, the angel can take on a physical form and manifest in front of the person who needs to see them. They don’t talk, and they seem simply otherworldly. In their presence, people have felt strong emotional relief, and usually, they experience serendipities.

Bullying Expert Explains How You Can Stop Being Bullied The Easiest Way

“All the bullying experts agree on one thing – that bullying is an imbalance of power; that someone’s trying to have power over you. They want to see you lose, and they want to win.”

Popular author and speaker Brooks Gibbs has become a sensation with his speeches that help people understand bullying better and be equipped with the knowledge on how you can stop being bullied the easiest way.

His message is simple: Love Is Greater Than Hate

Of course, when you are bullied, you are being hated by someone else (often for no apparent reason), and this behavior simply tips you off balance and you lose it. But, according to Gibbs, this is when you should start being nice to that person.

What psychologists call dominance behavior, bullying is based on how dominant one person becomes in the interaction. And by accepting their negative behavior and reciprocating with negative behavior, you accept the dominance of that behavior and thus you are being dominated in the situation – the bully wins.

However, Gibbs recommends that in such situations we need to use the Golden Rule: Treat others as you would like to be treated.

As he says, it’s very easy to treat someone nicely when they are being nice to you. In fact, it’s very hard to be mean to a person who is nice to you – much harder than being nice to a person who is being mean to you.

So, his advice is to stay calm and be kind.

“People don’t make you mad, and nobody pushes your buttons. You make yourself mad, you upset yourself, and you push your own buttons. The phrase of ‘They’re just pushing my buttons’ is a total lie,” explains Gibbs in a live talk.

The truth is, it’s our choice to let people’s words, actions, rejection, or rumors, hurt us or upset us. And his advice is not to let that happen – because if you let it, you lose. And if you don’t let this behavior affect you, you win.

And once you simply let go of the negativity that is being directed to you, your job is to be kind. Treat that person as a friend, because you want to be seen as their friend, rather than their enemy.

And it’s indeed difficult to maintain your calm and treat someone nicely (when they don’t really deserve it), but it’s worth the effort and it breaks the cycle of bullying. Why? Because the person will start seeing a positive vibe coming out of you, one that they can’t fight.

So, in the end, you will win over the situation; you won’t feed their negativity with more negativity; you will break the bullying cycle by being nice and kind.

Here’s an excerpt of one of his anti-bullying talks that shows how difficult is for a person to maintain the negativity when positivity is tossed in the interaction.

5 Ways To Make Your Brain Stop Worrying, According To Science

According To California’s National Institute of Mental Health, more than 18% of adults in America suffer from chronic anxiety and depression, which are characterized by excessive tension and worry that further lead to physical problems.

But, did you know that every person has two brains?

Well, actually and structurally we have one, but cognitively we do have two brans – one “thinking” and the other “unthinking.” And, somehow, we tend to first worry than think.

Joseph LeDoix is a New York Scientist who said that “connections from the emotional systems to the cognitive (thinking) systems are stronger than connections from the cognitive systems to the emotional systems.”

The ’emotional systems,’ according to Dr. LeDoix, are the limbic systems in the brain which are responsible for the brain’s emotional response. The limbic system consists of the amygdala and the hippocampus, which are among the oldest brain structures.

The prefrontal cortex (the ‘thinking system’), on the other hand, is among the newest and this is probably why we are susceptible to make bad and stupid decisions no matter how intelligent we are.

So, it is very important for us to learn how to overrule our emotional ‘worrying’ part of the brain and start to use our thinking brain more. Overwhelming and overstimulation usually equal bad decisions.

How can we ‘overrule’ the limbic system?

The truth is, even though we can overrule the limbic ‘worrying’ system of the brain, the process takes time and real effort.

But, when we are finally able to do it, we can notice some amazing changes, such as: we’ll become less stressed and anxious, we’ll be more productive, and we’ll save money.

So, here are 5 basic ways how you can do it according to Susan Krauss Whitbourne, a Ph.D. and a Professor of Psychological and Brain Science at the University of Massachusetts.

1. Start Examining Your Irrational Thoughts And Beliefs

We all are guilty of having illogical beliefs and fears that are causing us to see threat where there is no threat involved. These thoughts are usually connected to our trying to live up to someone else’s expectations and worrying when we fall short. So, try to distinguish between your ‘perfect’ and your ‘actual’ self, find the perfect balance between those two, and you’ll notice an improvement.

2. Set Your Feeling Aside When Faced With An Important Decision

We all know that we can be tricked into doing something mostly when we are emotional. Trial lawyers know this. They know how gullible the human mind is in being governed by emotional arguments.

They use this emotional response of the brain to make the jury’s sympathy for the accused to outweigh their legal duty and liability. So, the more you are able to separate your feelings from your judgment, the more likely you’ll be to make a fair and a reasonable decision.

3. Build Self-Confidence Through Self-Control

According to Dr. Susan, people gain confidence and are able to make good decisions when they feel that they have control over themselves and the situation. By beginning to control their problematic behaviors, they are more self-confident and thus more in control over their limbic systems.

4. Learn How To Talk Your Way Through Your Feelings

Cognitive-behavioral psychology offers a way for people to control their irrational thoughts with a simple technique. The technique involves substituting the negative feelings with positive or neutral ones.

5. Get Support From Someone Who Can Help You

When you feel emotional and overwhelmed, it’s best to ask someone close to you for guidance and insight. That person can be your ‘cortex’ because they are not involved emotionally in your situation, so they will help you to make a clear judgment.

Sharpen Your Facial Structure with These Easy Lifestyle Changes

If you want to slim down your face and sharpen the angles, there are a few ways to achieve this. The easiest is a few lifestyle and diet changes.

  1. Eat Less Sugar and Salt

Your face is fuller because of water retention. It has nothing to do with body fat. When you eat a lot of salt and sugar, you also tend to retain a lot of water. Your face will be fatter as a result. Have you ever binged on junk food right before bed? If so, you will likely wake up feeling bloated. You probably also noticed that your face was fuller when you looked in the mirror as well.

When you cut back on refined sugar and salt, your face will be thinner. In addition, you won’t carry as much fat on your body. It is equally important to consume vegetables and raw food as well. These items help make up a healthy diet.

  1. Drink More Water

When you don’t stay hydrated, your body naturally retains water. It is tricked into thinking that there is a shortage of water, so it wants to hold onto as much as possible so that you won’t become dehydrated over time. Retained water tends to settle in the eyes and a cheek, which makes them look almost swollen.

I deal with this often, particularly when my family is on vacation. We are just so busy that I don’t think about drinking water! However, the water helps to get rid of the toxins in the body. When your body isn’t worried about holding onto water, your face will look slimmer and more refined.

  1. Be Aware Of Your Weight

Your face can fill out as you gain weight. Therefore, slimming down will help; more specifically, you need to lose fat. It is important to make lifestyle changes, like becoming more active and eating better over time. The extra fat normally comes off of the face first.

If you want to lose weight over the face quickly it’s possible to get a sharper face with this procedure from Dore Aesthetics.

  1. Stay Away From Alcohol

Alcohol can cause you to gain weight and may also contribute to swelling around the face. When you drink a lot of alcohol, your body becomes dehydrated. As a result, it starts to retain water, which leads to a fuller appearance.

Alcohol does nothing for your body. It does give you a lot of empty calories, however. For example, if you have two beers that contain five percent alcohol each, you will consume more calories than if you ate a cheeseburger at McDonald’s.

People tend to remember what they eat. They are less sure about what they drink. However, if you want your facial shape to change, you need to drink less. That doesn’t mean you have to cut it out altogether; it just means you need to be aware of what is going on.

If you want to go out and have fun, but you are concerned that you might drink too much, try consuming one glass of water for every alcoholic beverage that you have. You’ll stay hydrated and likely consume less alcohol as well.

  1. Engage In Facial Exercises

There are jaw exercises that you can engage in that will help you sharpen your facial structure. For example, say “X-O” over and over again. Exaggerate the sounds so that you are opening your mouth quite a bit. Do it thirty times in a row, three times per day. You’ll strengthen your facial muscles as a result.

You can also try chewing gum. Doing so works out your muscles and may also keep you from snacking in between meals.

Don’t forget about facial massages, either. They make your face looked more toned, which will help with your overall goals.

You may not have the time or opportunity to engage in facial exercises each day. One thing you do have time for is laughing; when you smile, you also work out your facial muscles. It’s good for your heart and abs as well. Constantly look for reasons to laugh. You’ll feel better and look better as well.

If you are concerned that your face is too puffy or too full, you need to get rid of the extra water in your body and also cut down on the amount of fat. Makeup is also your friend; your application can create the illusion of sharper lines as well.

Hopefully, these tips were beneficial for you. Live well!

Zodiac Best Couples That Are The Most Powerful, Passionate, And Successful Together

most passionate, successful zodiac couples

Zodiac signs are controlled by 4 elements – fire, air, water, and earth. These elements determine how compatible they are with one another.

However, there are other factors as well. Plus, it can happen that two signs which have the same element may not be compatible as romantic partners at all.

Below is a list of zodiac best couples that are the most passionate, powerful, and successful when they are together:

ARIES – LIBRA

Aries has leadership qualities that have a profound impact on their professional as well as personal lives. So, zodiac signs that have a controlling nature will be ruled out. The number one thing that Aries looks for in a partner is honesty. Moreover, Aries is very passionate when it comes to satisfying their sexual activities.

And, while both Leo and Scorpio can be good partners for Aries, the best choice is a Libra. Aries is attracted to the Libra’s easy-going and honest nature. Plus, the Libra is an emotionally dependent sign that compliments the Aries’s controlling nature while exploring passionately their relationship.

TAURUS – VIRGO

Taurus is a traditional and family sign. This sign loves the intensity of “making love” more than the mere act. Taurus is a romantic sign that is compatible with Virgo that is also a family sign just like them. The Virgo’s sensual nature is a great match for the romance-lover Taurus and they can become a powerful couple.

On the other hand, Taurus should definitely try to stay away from a Sagittarius because this adventurous sign will never make happy the traditional and grounded Taurus.

GEMINI – SAGITTARIUS

The fun-loving, cheerful Gemini is a great person and friend that everyone wants to have in their life. However, when it comes to relationships, Gemini is the most difficult sign for a romantic partner. This is because Gemini is scared of commitment and fears losing its freedom. Moreover, they want a partner who is witty, intellectual, and with a great sense of humor.

The perfect match for a Gemini is a Sagittarius who is just as scared of being tied down and losing its freedom. Plus, Sagittarius’s humorous nature really impresses the Gemini. Contrary, the worst partner for a Gemini is the down-to-earth Capricorn that can bore them quickly.

CANCER – TAURUS

Being an empath, the Cancer is always seeking a serious, long-term relationship in which they can connect emotionally on a deep level with their partner. The perfect match for emotional and sensitive Cancer is the serious and romantic Taurus.

Zodiac signs that are adventurous, outspoken, and at times arrogant, like a Leo, can easily hurt the fragile Cancer and can’t make them happy.

LEO – ARIES

Leo’s immense pride and ego along with their unapologetic nature makes it very difficult and almost impossible for most signs to be in a long-term relationship with them. The Aries’s passion matches that of a Leo which makes them perfect together. They are both elegant and grandeur when expressing their love for one another what is almost movie-like.

However, both their love and their fights are fierce. If they learn how to overcome their fights there will be nothing that can stop their power. On the other hand, the worst match for a Leo is Scorpio. They are both intense, but their intensities don’t match.

VIRGO – SCORPIO

Virgo is one of the most organized and orderly signs of all the Zodiac. Virgo is a sign who is a perfectionist and even though they are reserved, they are attentive toward their partner. A Virgo’s most emotional and intense relationship would be with a Scorpio’s extremely passionate nature.

Scorpio’s openness about exploring their sexuality will inspire the Virgo to come out of the shell and become more open and free. On the other hand, the adventurous and outgoing Sagittarius is the worst match for a Virgo.

LIBRA – GEMINI

The Libra is a diplomat and a problem-solver. Even though they don’t want to feel lonely, they would rather be alone than around someone who lacks intellect. The Libra is curious about people and enjoys learning new things.

The perfect match for them is a Gemini because both signs are good with words and they both love having intellectual conversations. The stable and grounded Libra will help the Gemini to stay firmly on the ground. Contrary, the Virgo’s unimaginative nature turns the Libra off.

SCORPIO – PISCES

The callous and tough-looking Scorpio is very emotional but revengeful. They are extremely passionate about anything they do. As partners, they are dominant and aggressive. The perfect match for the intensity of the Scorpio is the dreamer and the romantic Pisces.

When these two signs bond their love screams everywhere. They form the most intuitive couple and their souls speak with each other on another level. The Aries’s superficiality, on the other hand, doesn’t match with the emotionality and the intensity of either the Scorpio or the Pisces.

SAGITTARIUS – AQUARIUS

The one thing that this born traveler hates the most is boredom and staying in one place. Freedom is essential to Sagittarius. Their adventurous nature makes them want to explore and experience new things every day. They can never be tied down, and their nature can only understand someone who is just like them – the Aquarius. Aquarius wants to be free just as much.

When these two signs are in a relationship, they would never experience a single moment of boredom. On the other hand, the Sagittarius can never understand the Taurus’s grounded and homely nature.

CAPRICORN – VIRGO

Capricorn is an extremely dedicated and ambitious sign. They decided what they want in life and work hard to achieve that. They give their best in everything they do and this quality applies to relationships as well. The orderly and disciplined Virgo is the best partner for the Capricorn because they can help the Capricorn to achieve their goals while keeping order in their life.

Both partners will make a highly focused and extremely disciplined family. On the other hand, the worst partner for a Capricorn is definitely the carefree Gemini.

AQUARIUS – LIBRA

Aquarius is always seeking justice. They can go to great lengths to fight the inequality in the world. Aquarius’s desire for equality and justice matches that of the Libra’s and they can both help each other in their protests and fights against injustice.

They are both respectful, so they will treat their relationship with utmost respect too. On the other hand, it is impossible for an Aquarius to be in a relationship with a Cancer because a Cancer can never understand the Capricorn’s need for justice.

PISCES – CAPRICORN

Pisces and Capricorn are the perfect examples that opposites do attract each other. The creative and dreamy nature of the Pisces will inspire the earthly Capricorn to start believing and achieve their dreams.

And while Pisces will entice the Capricorn with their imagination and creativity, the Capricorn will make sure to keep their Pisces firmly on the ground any time they get deep into their imaginative nature. Pisces should really stay away from the Virgo whose uninspiring nature will only bring them down.

Reading To Your Kids This Way Will Help Them Grow Into More Successful Adults, Says A Neuroscientist

Most parents send their kids off to bed with a bedtime story, or by reading their favorite children’s book. And reading to your kids is very beneficial, as many studies have pointed to how much it can benefit their development.

As Neuroscientist Erin Clabough Ph.D. explains, reading to your child has become “the bare minimum a parent must do to ensure success.” However, there’s a catch to all of this. The thing is, many parents read to their children to make them sleepy, or because it will give them something to write about in their school reading logs.

And there are those times, as Clabough explains, when we can devote some more attention and where we’ll get into doing different character voices, expose them to the wondrous worlds of the books, or help them understand an important life lesson.

And while this may be a kind of start, you should be aware that there is so much more to books that can be useful than that. And the best way to achieve their full potential is, as Clabough puts it, to “stop reading to your children and start engaging them.”

It has been found that adults who read literary fiction can understand the mental states and empathize with others much better. This is because in such fiction, the reader can get a deep insight of the character’s feelings and inner thoughts and through this insight, they can fill in the gaps between the characters’ personality and their motivation and perspective.

This process simply strengthens the reader’s innate sense of empathy.

The main difference between adult literary fiction and children’s books is that the stories for children don’t contain such complexity in writing and nuance.

However, if approached correctly, “any book can be used to foster empathy and decision-making skills. Even terrible books,” explains Clabough.

And you can achieve this by allowing your kid to reflect upon the story and become involved in the story through making decisions. Simply put, making a pause in the story and asking your child what they would do if they were the hero of the story allows them to put themselves in the shoes of the characters and reflect.

“Reflection allows a child to actively practice making decisions, rather than passively listening to the book. That active practice results in synaptic changes and strengthening of neuronal pathways in your child,” says Clabough.

Which is more, this habit of allowing your child to imagine themselves in such situation and live through the experiences of the main character allows them to practice empathy, as empathy itself means putting yourself in the shoes of others.

And the benefits of enhancing your child’s empathy skills? Clabough says that people with empathy are more satisfied with life, have better relationships, become better bosses, coworkers, negotiators, and friends.

So, let your children choose their own adventure before you continue reading the story, and see how they think the problem can be solved.

She compares reading a book to your child without pausing for reflection as “plopping them down to watch a movie.”

“We’ve been sucked in by the plot, and we’re dying to know what happens. But we’re still on the outside, watching someone else make decisions,” explains Clabough. “The real magic happens inside our own heads when we try on someone else’s life.”

And the best time to help your children learn to make more decisions and become more empathetic? Right before bedtime, reading an engaging story and involving them in the plot.

Teach Your Children To Do Chores If You Want Them To Become Successful Adults

Making your kid do their chores won’t mean that they will excel at the task and actually do a good job in most cases, but it’s worth the patience as it will help them grow into successful adults.

And it’s worth the effort indeed, considering that we all have our chores no matter our age. If you teach your children to do their chores from a young age, they will be able to learn to cope with these tasks when more difficult challenges come.

Which is more, learning to do your chores means learning to build a work ethic that will reflect later in your professional environment.

The Harvard Grant Study that has spanned over 75 years has identified that success is directly related to work ethic, and the best way to help your children develop it is through nurturing one important thing:

The ‘pitch-in’ mindset

In other words, the ability to pitch in the task and stay with it until you have finished it. And for children, as Julie Lythcott-Haims notes, this mindset can be nurtured by teaching them to take responsibility for their chores as soon as possible.

“Professional success in life, which is what we want for our kids … comes from having done chores as a kid,” she explains in her 20XX TED Talk.

“The earlier you started, the better,” as this kind of mindset will help your child to grasp the challenges in life as they come.  “[A] roll-up-your-sleeves- and-pitch-in mindset, a mindset that says, there’s some unpleasant work, someone’s got to do it, it might as well be me … that that’s what gets you ahead in the workplace.”

And this mindset can be learned through chores very easily. In the end, who wants to do them gladly? We just roll up our sleeves and say, “let’s do it,” because nobody else will. This is the mindset that will help your child conquer every obstacle that might occur in their adult life, and especially in their careers, where (we all know) that things can often get rough and tough.

And which is more, teaching your child to do these tasks will help them to cope with the upcoming challenges one by one instead of having to face them all at once when they start living on their own.

Of course, there’s a catch

If you think that your child will do an excellent job cleaning the floor, doing the dishes, or doing their laundry, you are in for some really big surprises. You will see some cute clumsy action and in the end, you will have to clean up yourself.

The point is not to hire your kids as your perfect helpers (although they will become ones soon enough), but to help them develop these habits gradually and learn to improve each time. And the main goal of it all (never forget) is nurturing in them the idea that there are some things that need to be done, and that they are in charge of these things right now.

As Lythcott-Haims says: “By making them do chores — taking out the garbage, doing their own laundry — they realize I have to do the work of life in order to be part of life. It’s not just about me and what I need in this moment.”

The First Thing You See In These Pictures Reveals Your Hidden Fear

Fear is a natural response to a threatening situation. It’s our body’s way of telling us that we are in danger. However, not every fear we have is showing up on the surface. Some fears are hidden deeply in us – in our subconsciousness.

Below are 3 pictures. Look at them and decide what did you see first. Then read on and find more about your subconscious fears.

THE KNIFE

If the thing you saw first is the knife, then you fear terminal illnesses. You fear and worry that you might pass out at any moment. This fear is deeply integrated into your subconscious that you tend to feel anxious and suffering without even knowing why.

THE CATERPILLAR

Noticing the caterpillar first means that you subconsciously fear the paranormal. You might probably have ‘phasmophobia’ (fear of ghosts), and you believe that there are forces around you that are of malevolent nature.

THE BUTTERFLY

Those who first saw the butterfly have a subconscious fear of betrayal. Maybe they have been betrayed in the past, and this fear has integrated deeply inside them. So, they subconsciously fear that they would be betrayed again.

THE APPLE

Spotting the apple first means that you subconsciously fear to see your loved ones dying. You fear the suffering you’ll experience when a person you love dies, probably because you’ve already lost someone, and you fear of going through the same pain again.

THE GIRL

If you noticed the little girl first, you have a hidden fear of making a big decision. Perhaps you have experienced a childhood trauma that has made you feel anxious and stressed every time you find yourself having to decide something important.

THE STRAWBERRY

If you spotted the strawberry first, you are probably in a complicated relationship right now and you fear that your partner may not be the right choice for you. On a subconscious level, you fear that you are in a wrong relationship or, if you are single, you fear that you’ll never find true love.

THE BUTTERFLY

The butterfly stands for a missed opportunity. Deep down you fear that you missed something that you will never have a chance to replace or find something like that.

THE TREES

If you saw the trees first, it means that you subconsciously have a fear of dealing with a problem or a conflict that you’ve been avoiding a long time. This conflict or problem could be depression or even guilt.

THE SKULL

Even though there is no concrete skull in the picture, some people can see an optical illusion of a skull. This means that they have a subconscious fear letting others down and disappointing them. The skull can also be a symbol of a hidden fear of death.

THE GIRL

The girl reveals your hidden fear of helplessness. This fear might have been integrated into you in the past when you probably have found yourself in a situation in which you couldn’t change the outcome of something which happened to you or someone close to you.

THE SKULL

The skull in this picture doesn’t symbolize a fear of death. The skull here means that you are suppressing a secret and you subconsciously fear that your secret will be revealed.

THE TREES

Those people that noticed the trees first have a subconscious fear of the future and what it may bring. They fear the unpredictability of life and their future.

THE BACKGROUND FIGURE

If you noticed the figure in the background, it means that you value your privacy over anything, so this figure symbolizes you hidden fear of being exposed publicly.

This Is What Anxiety Really Is, And It’s More Than Just Worrying

Anxiety is your restless sleeping. It’s your inability to just shut your eyes and fall asleep calmly because your mind doesn’t shut off. It’s the time of the night when your worst fears and nightmares become a reality in your head.

Anxiety is your ever-lasting wonder about whether the things you are doing are right or wrong. It’s your double-checking every single text message you send because you worry that you will mess something up. It is you answering texts fast because you fear that the other person will get mad.

Anxiety is your fear that someone might be mad at you when they don’t reply to your texts. It’s the overthinking in your head about what someone is thinking when they don’t answer your call, and whether you have wronged them in some way.

Anxiety is the unanswered text that destroys you inside even though you keep telling yourself that they are probably busy and that you have nothing to worry about. It’s your inner critical voice that keeps telling you that they are ignoring you on purpose.

It’s you, imagining every possible negative scenario in your head. Anxiety is the feeling like you are waiting for something (bad) to happen. Anxiety is always apologizing even for things that you don’t have to be sorry for.

Anxiety is your doubt about both you and those around you. It’s you, destroying relationships before they even begin because the ‘little’ voice in your head tells you that they don’t like you, so you start overthinking and overanalyzing until you finally destroy the relationship.

Anxiety is your hyper-sensitive and aware nature of everything around you. It’s your ability to sense every little shift in someone’s tone of voice or manner of speaking. Anxiety is your everyday fears and worries. It’s you, living on the edge every single day.

It is thinking too much. It is caring too much. It is fearing too much. It is loving too much.

Anxiety is you, trying to fix something that is not even a problem in the first place. It is the uneasiness you feel at a party or any other social gathering because you feel like everyone is watching and judging you.

Anxiety is your trying too hard to please everyone. Anxiety is you, procrastinating yourself and your actions because of your fear of failure. It is your breaking down in tears and falling apart when no one is watching you.

Anxiety is caring more than anything. It is you, not wanting to hurt anyone’s feelings. It is you, not wanting to do anything wrong. It is you, wanting only to be loved and accepted as who you are.

Billionaire Warren Buffett Reveals The Most Important Skill That Can Boost Your Career Value By 50 Percent

Our professional value is something which ultimately leads to better positions and more substantial growth in the careers we are chasing after. And many people tend to define the path to attaining higher professional value in different ways.

A visionary, strong leadership, experience in business and sales, smart monetary management, you name it. These may all be important pieces in the puzzle of achieving greater value in your career, but it can all fall apart when the one thing that holds the puzzle together is missing:

THE ONE SKILL THAT WILL RAISE YOUR CAREER VALUE BY 50% IS PUBLIC SPEAKING

Warren Buffett describes this skill as essential and one that can raise your career value by 50 percent – and that is really a lot.

“Right now, I would pay $100,000 for 10 percent of the future earnings of any of you, so if you’re interested, see me after class,” he said to the students at Columbia University. And while this sounded like a joke to them, he continued with a very important message:

“…you can improve your value by 50 percent just by learning communication skills–public speaking. If that’s the case, see me after class and I’ll pay you $150,000.”

And he cannot be further from the truth. Public speaking skills are key to success in whatever field you are working on. As the author of TED Talks: The Official TED Guide to Public Speaking, Chris Anderson, has shown, public speaking can be “the key to unlocking empathy, stirring excitement, spreading knowledge, and promoting a shared dream.”

In an interview with Levo League, Buffett said that the ability to communicate in life is enormously important. “If you can’t communicate and talk to other people and get across your ideas, you’re giving up your potential,” he explained.

Many would think, though, that public speaking is only for those who aren’t faint of heart. This may be true if you don’t put some effort into learning more about how you can overcome the fear of speaking publicly.

Mr. Buffett himself was one of the faint of heart, who admits to having suffered from horrible anxiety attacks only by the thought of giving presentations to other people. He even dropped out of a Dale-Carnegie public-speaking course because he was petrified by the idea that he had to speak up.

However, conquering this fear is what made him take the course for the second time and today he proudly displays his public-speaking certificate in his office.

He is one of those who can prove that public speaking is something that everybody can learn and master. And the best way to do it is through gradual exposure, increased self-confidence, and a clear purpose.
