The Cost of a Massage Chair

Most of the massage chairs available today on the market are quite expensive, but you can also find a lot of low-end models that come at an affordable price. The price is dependent on the features of the product, the brand behind it, and the materials it is made of.

For instance, a standard office massage chair costs around $150, an electric recliner goes up to $600, while a high-end massage chair that is equipped with the most advanced features and tech to date can cost $6,000.

Despite the high price of advanced models, these expensive massage chairs are a very smart investment for people who go to the massage parlor regularly. If you pay your massage therapist weekly visits, investing $6,000 in a robotic massage chair that takes care of your needs is very smart. You can recoup your investment in less than 2 hours, plus you can save a lot of time by staying home instead of traveling to your massage therapist’s office.

Beyond the monetary considerations, the priceless convenience and accessibility of having a massage chair in Calgary provide a compelling argument for making this investment in your well-being and daily comfort.

What are the Benefits of Purchasing a Massage Chair?

Getting your own massage chair comes with a wide range of benefits. In addition to saving time & money, one of these devices allows you to stay fit and healthy from the comfort of your home. You can use your massage chair to relieve joint & muscle pain, relax your mind, reduce fatigue, relieve tension and boost your mood.

If you’re experiencing arthritis or you have seldom back pains from spending too much time in front of your computer, you can use a massage chair to dramatically improve your health.

Features to Look at When Buying a Massage Chair

When looking to purchase one of these modern devices, you want to look at several features, including price, warranty, features, manufacturer rating, size of the chair, material and extras. Some of the features you should look for include pre-programmed massages, massage intensity, recline, zero-gravity positioning, and airbags.

Computer programming, biological science, health or even public affairs – all these areas are waiting for people with a psychology degree.

During the course, students develop their abilities in analyzing and evaluating data, which is a skill, necessary in pretty much every area. Also, they get a lot of experience in problem-solving, which is an ability that every psychology graduate has. It’s safe to say, though, that most psychology degree graduates initially wanted to be psychologists. It was during the course duration when they realised that the skills they can get are all-embracing, and needed in other areas as well. So, it’s not an accident that a big percentage of psychology graduates end up working in an industry not connected with psychology at all.

Possibility to Help People

One of the greatest benefits of studying psychology is the ability to help others. There are hundreds of people who decided to start a psychology career, because of one reason – to help people who are suffering from various conditions. It’s very laudable, and also useful. They also help people who are suffering from developmental, eating and personality disorders. They can save the lives of those who are abusing addictive substances. They help couples who struggle with marriage and family problems. And finally, they advise people who can’t deal with life-changing situations and transitions. If helping others is something that you love and would like to do, then don’t hesitate, and consider the option of taking a psychology course.

Another significant benefit of studying psychology is that you can learn a lot about soft skills. People don’t usually realize their importance, and they are something that can drastically change your career or even life. Simply speaking, soft skills are one’s attributes, and they have an influence on how good you can cooperate with other people. And working with other people is essential for success in every area.

Soft skills can also help you to form stable relationships, and easily make new friends. If you understand the importance of soft skills in your life, you surely won’t neglect this factor.

Business is Psychology

Psychology background is excellent preparation for a business career. When you think about it, almost every aspect of business requires you to have a deep understanding of human psychology. You have to know how to motivate your workers, how to market your products or services, how to set a price for the product so people will buy it etc. Simply speaking, you have to know human thinking and behavior and adjust your actions accordingly. Knowing what customers want or need is the key to success, and as a psychology graduate, you’ll be able to notice things before your competition.

Studying psychology is rewarding and fruitful. No matter if you’re looking for personal development, or you just want to help others. Studying psychology opens a world of possibilities for you.

Most common ways to treat chronic pain

Many people suffer from chronic pain brought on by injuries or ailments. This constant, long-term pain can cause both physical and mental distress, and limit the quality of life you can have. It can also cause other additional health problems such as depression, anxiety, or difficulty sleeping. It can make working, walking, and interacting socially difficult. Finding effective treatment options is imperative, and you want to find the right balance between pain relief and your safety. Before trying out any kind of pain treatment, consult your doctor and learn all you can, so you can make safe choices. Here are some potential choices you can consider.

  1. Cannabis

While it is still a bit controversial, medical cannabis is now being used to treat chronic pain from conditions such as sclerosis, migraines, sleep problems, cancer-related pains, and more. Marijuana contains compounds such as CBD (cannabidiol) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is responsible for the ‘high’ that is often linked with consuming cannabis. CBD, on the other hand, has therapeutic qualities that make it ideal for treating conditions such as anxiety, epilepsy, and depression. While this page has important information from the strain, dose, and administration method, it’s important to speak to a professional before you use marijuana for pain. It’s highly addictive when misused. Marijuana is available in a wide variety of forms and edibles such as candies, cookies, cakes, oils, and buds.

  1. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)

These drugs work well for mild to moderate pain that can sometimes cause swelling or inflammation. They are commonly prescribed for arthritis and pain from muscle sprains, cramps, strains, and other injuries. They work by inhibiting certain enzymes that are produced when tissue damage occurs. By blocking these different kinds of enzymes, they can reduce pain and inflammation. Some common NSAIDs include ibuprofen, Advil, etc. there are side effects to using these drugs such as nausea or stomach pain, so stick to the recommended dosages.

  1. Opioids

These drugs are synthetic versions of opium and opium-based drugs such as morphine. They are prescribed for severe pain that results from traumatic injuries, such as broken bones. They work like real opium by mimicking the natural pain-relieving chemicals produced in the brain called endorphins that promote a sense of well-being. They reduce pain signals sent by your nervous system and can also mute other nerve cell functions such as breathing. While they provide excellent pain relief, there is a downside to using them. They are the leading cause of drug-related overdoses, and as such, they are prescribed in their lowest doses and only for a few days.

Managing and treating chronic pain can be hard. While most of these treatments offer relief, there are dangers associated with long term use such as addiction, overdosing, or developing drug tolerance. There more treatment options for chronic pain, so talk to your doctor about your symptoms, and they can help you decide on what medications or alternative treatment combinations will help manage your symptoms.

Only A Real, Brave Man Could Love A Strong And Independent Woman Like Her

a real man

I’ve said it before and I will say it again. If you are not ready to treat her the way she deserves to be treated, don’t bother chasing her.

Only a real, brave man could understand this woman’s unique nature and truly fall in love with her. Only someone with a pure and kind heart would love her the way she deserves to be loved.

Passionately. Madly. Purely. Deeply. Truly.

So, if you feel like you’re not ready to open your heart and really feel, don’t string her along. If you feel like you’re not ready to be that man for her, don’t lie to her. Let me stop you before you even try to lure her in and destroy her life. Your manipulative, childish games won’t work on her.

Because this woman is nothing like those girls you’ve met before. She’s a warrior. She is not afraid of risk. She makes bold moves. She works hard for the things she wants. She knows exactly how much she’s worth and she won’t stop chasing her dreams for no one.

Don’t kid yourself, this woman is not a yes woman. She won’t agree with you on anything and everything. She won’t follow your journey just because you two are together. But, she will always be by your side, rooting for you and supporting every step you make.

So, don’t date her if you see her as your temporary fling. Don’t date her if you think that there are “plenty of fish in the sea”. Don’t string her along if you’re not in this for real. If there’s someone else on your agenda, please just get out of her way.

Her whole life, she has been taking care of herself. So, don’t even think that she will ever stop doing that. She’s her own woman. And the only thing she wants in life is an equally matured partner who won’t complete her but rather stand beside her and have her back, no matter what.

Someone who won’t be intimidated by her big steps and her strong desire to grow even higher. Someone who will motivate her to fly and explore everything this world has to offer. Someone who will respect her independence, not keep her from being heard. Someone who will appreciate her individually, not mock her for being different.

If you think that you can be this person for her, then do it.

But, if you’re not ready to date her and commit to her, then please leave her alone.

She will never settle for an average, half-assed love. So, please don’t condemn her to a life without love. Let her find her destined path and let her experience love in all its intensity.

It takes a real man to truly love, cherish and understand this delicate human being.

If you are not ready to be her everything, leave her be.

Ending Up Alone Doesn’t Scare Me: It Is The Modern Dating That Terrifies Me

not afraid of being alone

I’ve been through many things in life. So, it’s safe to say that I’ve experienced a decent amount of drama in my life. I’ve been stuck in toxic relationships, I’ve given chances to people who betrayed me, I’ve been friends with people who disappointed me. I’ve loved people who didn’t deserve my life.

I’ve been foolish and naive. But, I can proudly say that all of this is in the past. Because I’ve finally learned my lessons. Ending up alone is not what scares me the most. In fact, when I think about it, staying alone until I meet the right person is not a bad idea at all. I

It’s the modern dating that terrifies me. It’s the lack of traditional values that scares me. It’s the general apathy in people that drives me mad and makes me want to curl up under my covers and never leave my house again.

1. I’m Not Afraid Of Eating Alone – I Am Afraid Of Wasting My Time On The Wrong People

I don’t fear going to lunches on my own. I’m not embarrassed to sit at café and enjoy a nice brunch on my own. I don’t care how people look at me, or what they think of me.

I just know that I cherish myself enough to not waste my time on people who are all wrong for me. I may have done it in the past, but, I’ve learned my lessons. Self-love is the most important thing you can do for yourself. Remember that.

2. I’m Not Afraid Of Making Love – I Am Afraid Of Casual Sex

I don’t want to end up with someone who only calls me when he’s horny. I mean it. I don’t want to be with someone who only loves me for my body. Someone who only calls me when he’s drunk. Someone who only sees me as his sex puppet.

I want to be desired. Genuinely, passionately, deeply, madly loved.

3. I’m Not Afraid Of Falling Asleep Alone – I’m Afraid Of Sleeping With The Wrong Guy

It’s really not a big deal if I’m going to bed alone. After everything I’ve been through, it’s a new, refreshing experience, really. It’s a part of my life and I’m totally okay with it.

The thing I would never accept though, it’s waking up the wrong guy beside me. I’d rather stay alone, than settle for just about anyone.

4. I’m Not Afraid Of Being Who I Am – I Am Afraid Of Ending Up With Someone Who Wants To Change Me

I don’t want to be with someone who has a problem with my personality. I need a person who won’t try to change me. Someone who will make me feel comfortable to be my genuine self. Someone who will love me for who I am. Someone who will accept me. Flaws and all.

5. I’m Not Afraid Being Reserved– I Am Afraid Of Giving My Heart To People Who Won’t Take Care Of It

It’s a goddamn minefield out there. If you don’t watch your steps and if you don’t calculate your moves wisely, you are getting blown up for sure.

So, to hell with this world. I won’t get my heart shattered again. I won’t let anyone hurt me anymore. I’d rather pretend to be emotionless than give my heart to someone who won’t bother to take care of it.

6. I’m Not Afraid Of Not Having A Plus One – I’m Afraid Having To Explain To Others Why It Didn’t Work Out

Or more like annoyed. Yes, I am sick and tired of explaining to people why my last relationship didn’t work out. So, I would rather be alone, than go through that again.

8. I’m Not Afraid Of Staying Alone – I Am Afraid Of Ending Up With The Wrong Man

I will admit. There was a time when the thought of being alone scared me to death. But, those times have passed. I am a grown woman now.

And I am genuinely happy on my own. I’m no longer afraid of staying alone. It’s the possibility of ending up with the wrong man that freaks me out.

Loving A Man Who Didn’t Love Me Back Was My Biggest Lesson In Life

loving someone who didn't love me back

He was the first man I ever loved.

The first man I ever opened myself to.

He touched a part of my soul that was never touched that way before. He helped me open my heart and emotionally undress myself to him. He awoke something in me. Something that was waiting a long time to be triggered and finally set free.

But what seemed to me like the greatest love story of all time, was actually the biggest lie in my entire life.

I guess I was too naive to actually see what his intentions are.

I guess I was so desperate for love that I made myself trust him…

Or maybe he was just too good at telling lies.

Whatever it is… One thing is for sure.

I fell for someone who didn’t love me the same way I did.

It was painful to realize that I will never be loved as passionately as I loved him. But, even though life turned out to be a bitch, I cannot deny the fact that he was and always will be the most important lesson I’ve learned in life.

He was my biggest mistake, but at the same time… he was my greatest teacher.

He taught me how important it is to always be true to myself. You see, when I first met him, I instantly fell in love with him. And as time passed, I felt like I was slowly losing my sight. I could sense that there was a sudden change in his behavior, but I refused to believe that. The red flags were everywhere around me indicating that it’s finally time for me to wake up.

But, I wasn’t true to myself. I ignored them all. I lied myself every time I saw him, every time I answered the phone, desperately hoping that I’d eventually hear those 3 little words. Because deep inside of me I hoped that his feelings for me are as pure and profound as mine.

He helped me learn that some things in life simply aren’t worth our time. Even the things we sometimes believe that are right for us. He didn’t treat me like the person I wanted to be treated as.

I wasted my youth trying to put a band-aid on something that was broken from the start. Thinking back, I can clearly see that people who don’t care about you, do not deserve your time.

He taught me that life is truly unpredictable. And sometimes the things you never thought would happen – happen. I never thought I could end up begging for someone to notice me.

I always said that I would never let myself stay in a relationship that made me question everything. And yet, I somehow ended up going through the one thing I hate the most. But, I believe I know better now. I’m prepared for anything and I have the wisdom to handle this.

Last, but not least. He taught me that whatever happens, I can, I will, and I can get past it.

It was difficult for me, but I survived, didn’t I?

I cried my eyes out. I felt like something was ripped off my chest and taken away from me. My heart ached with pain. I felt like my soul was fading away. But, I found the strength and moved on. Because in the end, that’s the only thing we can do to help ourselves.

Today, as a mature and grown woman who is in a relationship with a person who gives me everything he couldn’t, I can finally say that I now know what real love is. I now know that if someone wants to spend their life with you, they’ll be with you. Simple as that.

Easy Ways to Improve Your Career in 2020

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the average person spends around 8.8 hours every day at work, or up to 9,000 hours per year. Since you spend around a third of your life working, it only makes sense that you would want to get as much as possible out of your career. Improving your work experience isn’t just about making sure that you’re earning the most cash or getting the most work done each day. If you really want to make a difference in the long-term, you need to think about how you can reach your goals over time. Fortunately, there are 3 simple things that anyone can do to transform their careers to start out 2020 with success.

Assess Your Goals

First things first, if you want to make a real improvement to your career, then you need to decide what professional success is going to look like to you. For some people, the most important thing they can do professionally is find a job that they love. If that’s the case, then you need to ask yourself what you enjoy doing each day, and which tasks you would like to do less of. Once you know what kind of work you’re the most passionate about, you can begin looking for roles that are designed to make you smile more each day. The right goals will help you to get moving in the right direction.

Update your Education

Whether you want to earn more money, have an easier time at work, or simply pursue a different position, there’s a good chance that you’re going to need to supplement your skills with some additional education. Updating your knowledge with extra classes and online learning opportunities will help you to impress future and current employees with your resume helper. Additionally, the more you learn, the more comfortable you’ll feel taking on new challenges that could lead to promotions. Usually, taking out a loan to fund higher education is something that’s well worth the investment, as your skills will pay for themselves with time. Just make sure that you know what kind of education will benefit you and your career goals.

Network more Often

Finally, if you’ve ever heard the phrase “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”, then you’ll have an idea of how important networking can be. In the business world, connecting with other professionals in your industry can give you a better insight into how your space works, and what you need to do to get ahead of the competition when applying for the jobs of your dreams. Networking with the right people can also help you to unlock new opportunities that you never would have encountered on your own. A conversation with a business leader over LinkedIn can lead to a commendation that gets you the job that you’ve always wanted. Don’t be afraid to take advantage of every opportunity to network. That includes attending in-person events, joining groups online, and getting active on social media too.

Putting Your Products in the Best Light: Why You Need to Hire a Social Media Photographer

You have good products, but why are they not selling? Is it time to hire a social media photographer? Here are some reasons you should hire one asap

As visitors are scrolling through your Instagram feed, you have only three seconds to make a lasting first impression, or else they will be scrolling elsewhere.

Vistors will know within 3-7 seconds if they want to become your customer or not. Your social media photographs must be engaging, appealing, and convincing. Or else you could lose them as a customer.

If you are selling either a product or services on your social media and have not thought about hiring a social media photographer, you could be doing your business more harm than good.

Many social media channels have so much potential with their products, but their pictures are sub-par. This affects their sales and pocketbook. Perhaps you’ve considered hiring a photographer as part of your team, but you don’t have the budget to do so. Your safest bet is to hire a freelance photographer, that way you only have to pay per project, since it’s unlikely that you’ll need photos every single day.

So what exactly can a social media photographer do for your business? Other than perfect photos, how would you benefit from hiring one?

Keep on reading to learn more.

It Is So Much More Than Filters

Instagram provides some awesome filters for you to edit your photos and make them appear consistent. Depending on your essence, you can make the tone brighter or lighter, but this only goes so far.

You can filter your photos to the moon and back, but if the photos that you are working with are not adequate, it will not draw in more attention whatsoever.

A professional social media photographer does more than just shoot your photos, they will work with photo editing software such as photoshop, lightroom, and more.

Provides Consistency to Your Photos

Without a professional photographer, you probably just take random photos of your products whenever you get the opportunity. You may know enough to stage it well and align your products nicely with great lighting.

This in itself will work wonders for advertising your products and puts you ahead of some other feeds.

However, a professional social media photographer is much more experienced at shooting your products from the right angles, lighting, and setup. You will leave with hundreds of shots that you can use in your social media feed in the future. This is much better than a random photo here and a photo there.

These elements may seem small, but they make your photos much more appealing and will set yourself apart from your competition ten-fold.

The Professional Will Have the Right Setup

Have you ever scrolled through another business’s feed, and noticed they have an inconsistency of lighting, background, and colors? This is because they took random pictures of their products at random times.

This change in lighting, background, and colors is distracting to our busy monkey minds. It appears too busy and can bother the minds of some visitors.

Hiring a professional means more than just the person taking the photos, if you are in their studio, they will have the right lighting equipment, staging, white backgrounds, and more.

Save You Time and Stress

Research tells us that business owners that fail to delegate out tasks have a 59% higher burnout rate than those who know how to hand out tasks.

If you focus on trying to run your business, do your bookkeeping, produce your products, deal with customer communication, perform the marketing, and take your photos, everything you do will end up being sub-par.

You cannot do everything perfectly, and some portion of your production, such as your photos, will suffer because of this. Instead, do the things that you naturally are good at, and what started the business in the first place.

Leave the rest for the professionals in that niche to take care of. By hiring the photographers, you can now relax about the fact that you are not the only one having to stage, shoot, and edit your products.

You Can Be the Face of Your Brand

People love and desire to connect and relate with each other. If they can relate to you and your brand, they are more likely to take action and purchase your product. These people will now also become your tribe, once they feel a connection and relation, they will support your business and help to spread the word.

Without help, you have to set the timer on your camera, awkwardly run into place hoping the photo will suffice enough to share on social media. And for the love of God, please do not post any selfies!

A professional social media photographer will have the creative eye to help style your photos to suit your brand. They will help you to pose correctly and ensure that your photos all have the same theme.

Professional Images Gives you a Professional Look

Without even looking at the number of followers, you can see the differences between the big brand products and the amateurs. The big companies know to use professional photography for every shot. They understand where their place is within their business, and they post high-quality images with a consistent theme.

The amateurs stay amateurs because they try and do everything themselves, and the pictures end up looking average because photography isn’t their expertise, making the products is.

Your Business Will Have More Sales

In a perfect world, the appearance of your products will not affect the ability of people to see it’s worth. Unfortunately, that is not the case. In today’s world, image is everything.

People naturally gravitate towards attractive things and looks matter more than ever before. Because of this, having attractive and professionally taken images will increase your sales tremendously.

Are You Ready To Hire a Social Media Photographer?

3 Signs of a Good Relationship

Are you in a healthy relationship? Get to know the signs of a good relationship and if it is time to make a change by reading the information here.

There’s good news out there for lovebirds.

From 2018 research, we learned that an inspiring 64 percent of Americans are “very happy” in their romantic relationship. Almost 50 percent say they’re pleased with their sex lives, too.

What are the common signs of a good relationship? Happier couples reported open communication, regular date nights, being of similar age, and small romantic gestures, like holding hands.

There are even more signs you’re in a happy, healthy relationship. Here, we’ll cite three fundamental ones.

Remember, each relationship doesn’t fit into the same box—read this list with your unique partnership in mind! If your relationship has these three things, great. If not, use it as a tool to reflect on your coupledom.

Let’s get started.

  1. You Have Healthy Discussions (Even Arguments)

Yes, you read that correctly—even small arguments can be a sign of a healthy relationship.

We don’t mean full-blown, toxic, screaming matches.

Instead, we mean being honest and open about each other’s feelings, which is a testament to your independence, autonomy, and communication skills. Being able to “agree to disagree” is imperative.

Fighting too much or not at all are both signs you may not be in the right coupling. Maybe you or your spouse are too afraid to speak up for your beliefs, and fighting never occurs because of this. Or perhaps you’ve not matured enough to conduct a reasonable argument where conflict diminishes quickly.

Quality verbal and non-verbal communication are both great signs. If you and your spouse can read each other’s moods and stave off awkward or tense situations, that means you’re connecting.

Plus, if you’re able to communicate fearlessly, that’s a sign of comfortability and understanding.

  1. You Have Trust and Respect Eachother’s Privacy

Every time your partner leaves the room, do you get the urge to scroll their phone?

A healthy relationship is built on the foundation of trust and honesty. Part of this comes from security with yourself, and the other part security in your relationship.

This stems from open communication, double-sided commitment, and respect.

  1. You’re Supportive of One Another

Certain situations are the ultimate relationship tester—perhaps one of you got a promotion, or you’re planning a trip with just friends, or you’re embarking on a new hobby.

Whatever the case, it’s an excellent chance to see how your partner reacts. Are they genuinely supportive? Do you feel that they’re happy for you, for your promising future?

As time goes on, you will each change in several ways. A supportive partner (not a fairweather fling) will want to grow and change with you, holding your hand along the way.

Does Your Partnership Reflect These Signs of a Good Relationship?

If so, congrats! Being in a successful relationship takes work—if you can commit to doing that work, you’re one step closer to a happy coupledom.

If you notice these signs of a good relationship, share them with your partner and rejoice in your great bond.

And while you’re at it, you two can continue learning more interesting and exciting information on our blog. Keep scrolling for more!

Keep a Watchful Eye on Your Kids Even If You are Not Around Thru Your Trusty Baby Monitor

Anyone who has ever been a parent knows the value of baby monitors. After all, you can’t just spend all day staring at your newborn to make sure he or she is safe and breathing. You will have to put the baby down inside the crib in the nursery to get work done around the house, especially if you have bigger children that also need attention. Thankfully, baby monitors like sound, video, motion detection, and baby monitors for twins abound to make your modern parenting journey so much easier. You can find an expansive list of baby monitors and other surveillance protection products here: https://propertyguardmaster.com/

Short History

Some of you may be wondering when were baby monitors invented. Actually, it doesn’t matter when, it just matters that they were actually invented because parenting life would be very difficult without them. But if you really are curious, the first baby monitor was called the Zenith Radio Nurse, which was invented in 1937 for Zenith Radio by Eugene Mc Donald and Isamu Naguchi. The concept of the first baby monitor was patterned after the mechanism of the first-ever invented radio technology, which was fashioned in the 1920s during the first world war. The very first baby monitor was actually invented because of the 1932 the kidnapping of the Lindbergh baby. The horrible tragedy inspired the president of the Zenith company to conceptualize the first primitive baby monitor designed to keep children safe.

How Do Baby Monitors Work

Nowadays, baby monitors are included in the must-have list of any new parent. Baby monitors are critical tools when it comes to securing the most vulnerable and helpless members of the family, babies and young children. After all, these wee ones cannot defend themselves, and sometimes, they are too curious for their own good so they get into trouble. Thus, monitoring babies and toddlers is essential to give parents like you peace of mind. Thanks to the advent of modern technology, the modern baby monitor is no longer just a two-way radio that transmits and receives sounds. Now, these high tech devices come with so many features to help you out. Let’s take a look at each of them:

Video Baby Monitor or Baby Cams

Most modern smart cameras for babies now come a video camera to show moving pictures on the receiver. This can be plugged into a TV or a portable LCD screen. This video baby monitor is now colloquially referred to as a baby cam. Sometimes, this is even referred to as a nanny cam because it is akin to a surveillance camera that allows you to monitor your children and their guardians while you are away. This is done through a high tech camera and your WiFi, which connects the data to your smart phone or computer.  With the presence of a nanny cam, you are assured that the caregiver will not hurt your children because you are keeping a watchful eye even if you are not there. Some wireless systems are even so high-tech that there are multiple cameras that can be hooked at the same time. Nowadays, most baby monitors have a night vision feature, which makes them fully functional even at night time when your baby is alone in the nursery. The Infrared LEDs attached to the front portion of the camera allows you to see your baby even if the room is dark.

Movement Monitors

In conjunction with the camera, you can also now use a baby cam that acts as a movement monitor. These are usually placed under the crib mattress, so you can detect your baby’s movement. If the movement stops for more than twenty seconds, then an alarm will go off to alert you. These are very sensitive and have the power to detect the rise and fall of your baby’s chest when breathing. This is a very crucial component in battling SIDS or sudden infant death syndrome. SIDS happens to be the third leading cause of infant mortality in the United States. With the placement of these monitors, SIDS have reduced dramatically. Parents can now rest soundly at night knowing that should their once baby stops moving, they will be alerted to so they can rouse the little ones.

Wired and Wireless

Most baby monitors now use a wireless systems. However, some can still use wires and operate over existing household wiring. An example of this is x10 wiring, which is the industry standard. Wireless systems are reliant on radio frequencies which are for the purpose of unlicensed used that have been assigned by governments. To illustrate, in North America 49 megahertz, 902 megahertz, or 2.4 gigahertz are the common frequencies used for baby monitors. These frequencies are powerful enough to transmit what you need, but they are not as potent as those assigned to radio stations or television networks. Interference from other household appliances like your cordless phone, computers, microwave ovens, and the like is even possible. That being said, even FM transmitters that you pair with a simple microphone can be a crude and an inexpensive DIY baby monitor. You can pair this with your clock radio as the receiver.

Privacy Risks

Because interference is possible in analog audio transmissions, you have to be very careful in using them. These older systems can be picked up by a simple home scanner or even other baby monitors nearby. Thus, as you can see, there is a risk to your privacy when your baby monitor is switched on in an ordinary analog monitor. Baby monitors that use the more modern digital audio wireless systems that rely on Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunication or DECT are more resistant to interference. However, their range is limited up to 300 meters only. Albeit a bit more expensive, digital transmission like the frequency-hopping spread spectrum can protect your better from ordinary interception keeping you more secure.

Other High Tech Options

Now, smartphone applications allow you to use another smartphone or tablet as a baby monitor. With WiFi or Bluetooth, you can link your app to another device that can serve to monitor the baby. In addition to this, there are now portable battery-operated receivers that parents can easily put in their pockets. The transmitter usually stays plugged in the nursery or wherever the baby is, so you can be mobile and do your chores. Some receivers also come with lights and vibration options, if you don’t want to enable to sound function. This is especially useful for those parents who have hearing or vision impairment.

Final Word

As you can see, it is critical to have a baby monitor in your house for the security of your most precious jewels, your kids. It is very much practical to get a baby monitor system with several transmitters if you want to monitor several rooms in your house at the same time. You can even opt to hook the transmission to receive data in your smartphone, so you can keep round the clock observance.
